The State of Washington

I created this physical map of the state of Washington by following one of John Nelson's guides. I've always found the topography of Washington extremely interesting, stemming from its complex tectonic and glacial events in its geologic history. From the mountain ranges in the west and north, to the heavily glacial impacted scablands in the central plains, the state demands your attention when viewed from above.

The map itself is made out of eight different layers and utilizes Imhof's famous mist effect using some opacity tricks on a DEM.
